An Adulteress Seduces A Young Man - Bible
At the window of my house,
Through the curtains,
I saw among the simple ones,
I saw among the young men,
A youth with no sense.
It was twilight, the dusk,
And soon it became dark.
And lo! A woman
Dressed like a harlot came
To meet him with secret designs.
At home she’s fickle and unruly,
Her feet cannot rest.
And now in the street,
And now in the squares,
At every corner she lurks in ambush.
She seizes him, she kisses him,
Impudently she says to him:
“I owed peace offerings,
And today I have filled my vows,
Now I'm out to look for you
How happy I'm I have found you!
My couch is covered with brocaded
Cloth of Egyptian linen and designs,
My bed is fresh with fragrances of
Myrrh, cinnamon and aloes.
Come; let us drink our fill of love,
Till morning let us feast on love,
My husband is not at home,
He has gone on a long journey.
A bagful of money he took with him.
He will not return till it is full moon.”
She wins his heart with her smooth lips,
She leads him astray, he follows her
Like an ox to the house of slaughter,
Like a stag that runs to the net
Like an arrow that pierces the liver,
Like a bird that rushes to the snare,
Unaware its life is at stake.
She has struck down dead many before
Many are those she has slain.
