'I ’M wife; I ’ve finished that' by Emily Dickinson in Urdu
Original
I ’M wife; I ’ve finished that,
That other state;
I ’m Czar, I ’m woman now:
It ’s safer so.
How odd the girl’s life looks
Behind this soft eclipse!
I think that earth seems so
To those in heaven now.
This being comfort, then
That other kind was pain;
But why compare?
I ’m wife! stop there!
~Emily Dickinson (1830–86)

Hindi version:
Main beewee hoon; Main wo khatam hooee,
Wo ek doosri cheez;
Main shenshah hoon, main ab aurat hoon:
Aisay hoon main mehfooz.
Kitni ajab lagti hai ek lad`ki ki zindgi
Is naram chhaaey ke pichhay!
Shayed ab zameen unay
Bahisht main pad`i lagtee hai.
Agar yeh araam hai,
To wo tha ek darad;
Lakin mawaaznaa kyon karain?
Main beewee hoo! Rukko yaheen!
